 Corona Virus

Since 19th July, 2021, the Reading Room is available to book for all events.
Event organisers should still ensure any prevailing government guidance is followed.  We recommend the use of face coverings and hand sanitiser where practical.

  1. Although all legal restrictions have been lifted we strongly advise users of the Reading Room to adhere to the following updated rules of use.

  2. Anyone feeling unwell,  with a high temperature, with a dry persistent cough or any other recognized symptoms of Covid-19, must not enter the hall.

  3. Persons entering the hall should use the hand sanitizer provided. (If it has run out contact: 01525 463181)

  4. ​Social distancing is advised including the wearing of face coverings especially if 2m distancing is not possible.  It is advisable that windows are opened for the duration of the event.

  5. ​When using the toilet, wash hands before and afterwards.  Door handles, flush handle and seat should be wiped after use. (Wipes in the bin provided)

  6. ​Hirers of the hall should wipe down all door handles, toilet contact points and light switches before vacating the building.  (wipes to be provided at the entrance)

  7. ​Users shall notify event organisers and the Reading Room management if they contract Covid-19 in the 10 days following an event in the Reading Room.
